Wallace C. St. John

Wallace (Wally) Charles St. John, 82, of Iron Mountain, MI, formerly of San Benito, TX went to his heavenly home in the presence of his family and loved ones, on October 22, 2013. Wallace was born August 31, 1931 in Manistique, MI and was the fifth of seven children, born to Joseph & Lillian St. John. He was self-employed most of his life. Married Phyllis Marie Perretto of Caspian, MI in 1973. Wallace was blessed with 7 children and 6 step children. 36 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. Wally loved serving the Lord. He lived in San Benito, TX prior to moving to Iron Mountain and was very active in Our Lady Queen of the Universe Church in Texas. He recently attended St. Mary Queen of Peace in Kingsford, MI. Wally was known for his kindness, generosity, and helping others. He was a gifted guitarist & vocalist. He enjoyed shooting pool, playing Texas Hold’Em, and sharing jokes. The biggest joys in his life were his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wally is survived by his wife, Phyllis St. John of Iron Mountain, MI, 11 children, Randall (Pat) St. John of Kingsford, MI, Bernice St. John, of Kingsford, Julie Hall of Kingsford, Tina St. John of Kingsford, Carole (Leon) Waitrovich, of Iron Mountain, Jeanne (Dean) Kaczorowski of Shawano, Wi., Patti Manning of Houston, Tx., Susan (Keith) Pullen of Tucson, Az., Sally (Alan) Plott of Plano, Tx., Laurie (Maurice) Desjardins, of Sugar Land, Tx., and Kathy Sullivan of Tomball, Tx. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, his siblings Donald (Dawn) St. John of Manistque and Bernice Archambeault of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick & Lillian St. John, mother & father in-law, Silvio & Elizabeth Perretto, daughter, Deborah St. John, a son, Timothy P. St. John, his grandson, Timothy C. St. John. Siblings, Carole (John) Vander Muelen, Elaine (Lee) Tyler, Warren St. John, and Betty St. John, brother in-law, Joseph Archambeault and Jim Perretto. A Service will be at St. Mary’s Queen of Peace in Kingsford, Saturday November 9th @ 11:30am. Father Mike Woempner will officiate. A luncheon will follow at Grace Baptist Church 1295 Pyle Drive, Kingsford, Mi. The burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
