Tracy J. Wales

Tracy J. Wales, 79, of East Kingsford, died Fri. March 25, 2016 at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford. He was born on May 23, 1936, in Iron Mountain, the son of the late Tracy B. and Eloise (Peterson) Wales. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1954. He served in the Michigan National Guard . Tracy worked for Wisconsin Electric for thirty-nine years, retiring as an electrician foreman in Nov. of 1994. Tracy was a member of the I.B.E.W Local 2150, where he served as union chairman in Iron Mountain and on the board in Milwaukee for many years. Tracy married Judith McMahon in Iron Mountain. The couple celebrated sixty years of marriage last year. Tracy was a Life Endowment Member of the N.R.A. He truly enjoyed the camp life, spending time at his camp in Marquette County. While at camp, Tracy could be found with one of his dogs at his side, cutting wood or driving one of his tractors. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, snowshoeing, and water sports, including riding in his pontoon boat and waterskiing. Tracy was very proud of his family and enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events. Tracy loved to putter, repairing things and working with his hands. He was a perfectionist. He was very kind-hearted and would do anything to help others. He also liked vacationing and traveling. He had a great love of all types of music. Tracy is survived by his wife Judith, one son Tim (Sally) Wales of Iron Mountain, one sister Shirley (Richard) Allen of Iron Mountain, three grandchildren Michael (fiancé Sadie) Wales of Iron Mountain, Sarah (Justin) Cowen of Kingsford, and Mark (Keely) Wales of Kingsford, three great grandchildren Ben, Ellie, and Ava Cowen, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his dear lifelong friend, Harvey Johnson of Spread Eagle, who visited Tracy faithfully at the nursing home every week. He was preceded in death by one son Tracy Allan Wales. Visitation will be Wed. from 2-5pm at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Tracy's name. Condolences to the family of Tracy J.
