Todd Hyland

Todd Alan Hyland, 58, of Kingsford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Todd was born April 3, 1958 in Iron Mountain, son of the late William “HyPower” Hyland and Nancy Fournier. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1976 and was a lifelong resident of the area. Todd married Judy Barrow on October 21, 1989 at Zion Lutheran Church in Metropolitan. He started working for Foley-Martens in Kingsford prior to taking a position at Louisiana Pacific in Sagola. For the past 17+ years, Todd has been employed as a custodian for the Breitung Township School District. He was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church. One of Todd’s greatest joys was spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed golf, working in his garden, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Todd found great comfort in the companionship of his pets Ginger, Chloe, Baylee, and Harley. He also enjoyed watching the birds and deer that visited his house daily. He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters, Chelsea and Courtney Hyland; a brother, Tim (Anne) Hyland; a sister, Tamie (Dino) Romagnoli; brothers and sisters-in-law, John (Cathi) Barrow, Tammy (Dave) Pelletier & Kathy (Dean) Pelletier; his God children, Lindsay Pelletier and Macy Hyland; nieces and nephews, Malisa (Martin) Lieser, Melissa Pelletier, Dustin Pelletier, Molly (George) Doyle, Justin (Amy) Murphy, Tia and Bruce Romagnoli, Taylor and Kellen Barrow, Kailey Pelletier, Ayden Pelletier, Violet and Fiona Lieser, Sullivan Doyle, and Lia and Ella Murphy. In addition to his parents, Todd was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph & Caroline Hyland and Clifford & Jan Fournier; and his God parents, Phil & Dorothy Smith. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 30 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm at the church. Rev. Bob Gordon will officiate. Pallbearers will be Dustin & Dave Pelletier, John Barrow, Justin Murphy, Bill Edens, Tom Pericolosi, Steve Zurcher and Mike Feira. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Todd’s memory. They would also like to thank the medical staff at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Froedtert Medical Center and OSF Hospice for the excellent care they provided over the last two years.
