Robert Miller

Robert "Bob" James Miller, 64, of Felch, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012. Bob was born July 10, 1947 in Evanston, IL, son of the late Howard and Catherine Lucille (Heller) Miller. He lived in Deerfield, IL until moving to the Upper Peninsula, Felch area, in 1973. He married Gail Sheldon at the Zion Lutheran Church in Metropolitan and together they raised their two sons, Robert and Daniel. Bob worked as an electrician for MJ Electric and was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local #876. Bob was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He also loved to spend time fishing and cooking for others. He was a member of the Felch Horseshoe League and he enjoyed having a cold beer with his friends at the Curve Inn. Bob was very close with his sons and they were the pride of his life. He was a good-hearted man with a great sense of humor and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother Eddy Miller, his sister Dorothy "Sissy" Miller and his nephew, John Michael Miller. Bob is survived by his sons, Robert G. Miller and Daniel (Heather Johnson) Miller of Felch; brothers, John (Robin) Miller and Howard Miller, also of Felch; nieces, Lori (Dan) Deschner, April (John) Oneill, and Wendy Miller; his nephew Kevin (Sandy) Miller; special friends, Norma Sheldon, Gail Sheldon, Mike and Darlene Hayes, Mark and Darlene Sheldon, Brad and Brenda Sheldon, Jack Carlson, Wade and Stephanie Sheldon, Karen and Jeff Stephen, Tim and Jenny Dario, Doug Wickman, Craig Steele, and Jay Katzenburger; he is further survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held from 11:00am - 1:00pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Metropolitan. The funeral service will follow at 1pm at the church. Burial will be in the Felch Cemetery. Pastor Joel Smeby will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bob's memory.
