Matthew T. Neumann, 21, of Kingsford, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. Matt was born November 16, 1993 in Iron Mountain to Todd Neumann and Wendy (Sleik) Loomis. He attended school in Norway and Kingsford and was a lifelong resident of the area. Matt's sparkling smile was one of a kind, his dimples, eyes and his personality could light up any room. Matt loved his family and friends with all his heart. His capacity to make people happy, with his comical ways and his sense of humor was immeasurable. As a child he was an avid soccer and baseball player, loving the Milwaukee Brewers and collecting baseball cards. He had to give up sports due to his disabilities, but found a new passion for music and had a talent with the guitar, teaching himself to play. His future plans were to become a recording artist and you rarely found him without his headphones. When he wasn't cruising around he enjoyed playing cards with his family, hanging with his buddies, fishing, and sitting in the sun listening to his music. After years of dealing with his physical disabilities, he was always courageous and up for the challenge. By living his life to its fullest, he was an inspiration to those closest to him. Matt leaves the love of his life, his son, Jaxon Matthew Neumann; his mother, Wendy (Tom) Loomis; his father, Todd Neumann; sisters, Melissa (Casey) Wilson and Sydney (Forrest Nelson) Lobner; brothers, Jacob Lobner, Jesse Neumann and Shane Neumann; step sisters, Kristy (Jason) Ewing, Sierra Fisher and Brittany Loomis; step brother, TJ Loomis; Nieces, Chianna and Kaelyn Wilson; nephews, Alex and Jace Wilson, and Gavin Fisher; grandparents, Gary & Sharon Sleik, Judy & Richard Stanek, Charlotte Neumann, James & Char Loomis, Marge & Ted Sparapani and Sue Giesen; special step parents, Brian Lobner and Annette Danielson; his godmother, Sherry (Brooke) Huettl; his godfather, Paul (Jenny) Neumann; aunts & uncles, Dawn (Tim) Ward, Mark (Amy Carpenter) Sleik, David (Sandy Fontecchhio) Sleik, Melissa Sleik, Edie Sleik, Laura Lobner, David (Christel) Giesen and Daniel (Amy) Giesen; and cousins, Trent Ward, Justin Neumann, Vanessa (Jeff) Mitchell, Erica (Tim Coda) Sleik, Tony Sleik, Dustin Sleik, Amanda Sleik, Mary (Zach) Webster and Nathan Giesen. He also leaves the mother of his child Sarah Recla. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Paul Neumann, Lynn Loomis, Richard Lobner and Joe Giesen; and great grandparents, Ruth & Lewis Laschen, Marien & John Sleik, Mildred Tamillo & Raymond Malek, Regina & Paul Neumann. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00pm at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will follow at 5:00pm at the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Michael Langlais will officiate. Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ali Fahad, Casey Wilson, Justin Neumann, Tony Sleik, Dustin Sleik, Tyler Campbell, Jared Clement, Kyle Ray, Brandon Johnson and Terry Quick.
