Mary C. Miller

Mary C. Miller, 96, of Iron Mountain, MI died Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Kingsford. She was born May 8, 1919 in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Vincent and Rachele Tomassoni Gregory. Mary was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and graduated from IMHS in 1937. She married Jerome “Jerry” Miller on June 25, 1938. He preceded her in death April 1, 1997. Mary owned and operated the Miller Floral Shop along with her husband for 50 years. She was a charter member of the Tuesday Study Club and the Chippewa Club, a member of Pine Grove Country Club, Iron Mountain-Kingsford Women’s Club, The Paisano Club, The Hospital League and St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mary was an active and caring volunteer in her community and was generous with her time and talents when it came to helping organizations raise funds for their projects. She was a published poet, a nationally known artist and an avid Packer Fan. She would dress for every game in Packer Green and Gold, and Aaron Rodgers was her absolute favorite. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Barbara (Ralph) Kramer of Iron Mountain and Kathleen (Tony) Yaggie of Green Bay, WI 5 Grandchildren, Christopher (Lora) Yaggie of Oshkosh, WI, Bradley (Tracy) Yaggie of Two Rivers, WI, and Nicholas (Lori) Yaggie of Manitowoc, WI. Eugene Kramer of Seattle, Washington, and Susan Kraimer of Iron Mountain. 13 Great grandchildren, Wesley, Mathias, Alexys, Anthony, Estaban, Anthony, Elianna, Will, Jaymeson, Desiree (Milo) Franzen, Emmalee, Danielle, and Alexander… She was blessed to have some very special caregivers during her time at Freeman’s and considered Susan VanMarter, Kaurie Girard, Amanda Miland and Tammy Houser as part of her extended family. Preceded in death by 1 sister, Ann Caruso and 4 brothers, Louis, Joseph, Quentin, and Domenic Gregory and two infant sons. Friends may call from 9:00 am until 11:00 am Friday at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at St. Mary & St. Joseph Church. Fr. Raymond Valerio will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
