Gertrude Izzo

Gertrude A. “Trudy” Izzo, 79, Niagara went home to Jesus on November 18, 2010 from Brewster Village in Appleton. She was born on October 28, 1931 in Niagara, the daughter of the late Raymond and Anna (Thiry) Rouse. Trudy is survived by her loving children Joseph P. (Barbara) Izzo of New Berlin, Therese A. Nemec of Appleton, Linda M. (Jim) Bousley of Cuba City, and Andrea J. (Paul) Krabbe of Appleton. Treasured Grandma of Alex, Brianna and Elizabeth Izzo, Joey Nemec, Annamarie, Preston and Grace Bousley, Nick and Holly Krabbe. Dear sister of Pat (Guy) Kallenbach of Niagara, Robert Rouse (the late Deborah) of Niagara, Marge Hilsabeck of Marinette, Bernard (Sharon) Rouse of Niagara, Raymond Rouse of Iron Mountain, MI and Marilyn (the late Jerry) Smithpeters of Highpoint, NC. Fond sister-in-law of Patsy Rouse, Lee Rouse and Augie Rouse. Also loved by many nieces, nephews and relatives. She was preceded in death by her former husband and lifelong friend, Andri Izzo, and brothers Richard Rouse and Donald Rouse. Trudy graduated from Niagara High School and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Bloomington, IL. She was a Registered Nurse at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain until her retirement. Trudy was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women, of which she was a past president. She was a member of the Michigan Nurses Association and the Dickinson County Hospice. Trudy loved reading, sewing, knitting and sudoku puzzles, but most of all her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved spending time with them and attending their sports, school, church events and plays. Our hearts are hurting, but we know that you are now at peace. A Mother holds her children's hands for awhile, their hearts forever. Visitation will be Sat., November 27, from 9:30am-10:30am at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara. Funeral services will be at 10:30am at the church. Father Matthew Settle will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Niagara Cemetery.
