Charlotte E. (Dahl) Olson

Charlotte E. (Dahl) Olson, 86 of Iron Mountain, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Maryhill Manor in Niagara. She was born on December 25, 1930 in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Herbert “Webb” and Josephine (Giovannini) Jacobson. She attended school in the Iron Mountain area, graduating from Iron Mountain High School in 1949. She married Rudolph “Rudy” Olson in 1985 and he preceded her in death in 1999. Charlotte was a traveling Head Start teacher in Northern Wisconsin for 15 years. She loved driving her blue van to the homes of her students who fondly knew her as Mrs. Dahl. She was a board member of Christian Women’s Club for many years. Charlotte was a Bible study leader through Stonecroft ministries for over 30 years. In her free time, she loved knitting, yardwork, walking and traveling. Char was known for her infectious laughter and beautiful smile. She loved to visit with anyone at any time. She took great pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren and was very proud of every one of them. Those that knew Charlotte never forgot her, she had a way of making even strangers feel like an old friend. Charlotte is survived by three daughters, Marie Hess of Kingsford, Joanne (Richard) Larson of Beloit, WI, and Linda (Dean) Hulce of Powers; six grandchildren, Kerry Hess (Jeff Turpeinen), Michael Hess (Mel Rissling), Angela Larson, Danielle (Jim) Fritz, Ryan Hulce (Nikkole Bowser) and Nicholas (Cory Ann) Hulce; nine great grandchildren, Samantha, Sabrina, Alex, Jeffrey, Chris, Micah, Chloe, Harli and Hunter; four stepchildren, Dennis (Carmel) Olson of Quinnesec, Bruce (Sharon) Olson of Quinnesec, Paul (Liz) Olson of Quinnesec and Lynne (Steve) Johnson of Oshkosh, WI; niece, Christine Coulthurst and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Charlotte was also preceded in death by a sister, Frances “Jean” Cobb, two nieces and a nephew. The visitation will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Rev. James Danielson will officiate. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in her memory.
