Carol A. Wicklund

Carol A. Wicklund 71, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at her home. Carol was born May 28, 1945 in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Adolph and Celeste (Lesandrini) Spigarelli. She has been a lifelong resident of this area and was a 1963 graduate of Iron Mountain High School. Carol married Edwin Wicklund on October 23, 1965 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last October. Carol has been a church organist for many years and for the past ten years has played for St. Mary Queen of Peace Church in Kingsford. She has been active at St. Mary Queen of Peace and has worked in the church office and for the churches annual Juke Box Memories variety show. She has also been involved with the community theatre and enjoyed her monthly gathering with the ladies of the Iron Mountain class of 1963. She was well known for her cooking and baking and was an avid scrabble player. Carol's sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Dolph Andrew and a brother Adolph Spigarelli Jr. Carol is survived by her husband, Edwin; sons, Eddie Joe (Faith) Wicklund of Plainwell, MI, Steven (Rinda) Wicklund of Eden Prairie, MN, and Eric (Amanda) Wicklund of Iron Mountain; brothers, Richard (MaryAnn) Spigarelli of Holland, MI, and Craig (Shelly) Spigarelli of Iron Mountain; five grandchildren, Patrick Wicklund, Reina (Isaac) Jenkins, Danielle Wicklund, Taylor Wicklund and Max Wicklund. Also by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 9th from 9:00-10:30am at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Tuesday at St. Mary Queen of Peace Church in Kingsford. Fr. Michael Woempner will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. Honorary pallbearers are John Fiorucci, Jerry Marinelli, William Juneau, David McMahon, Donald Benzie and Mark Angeli. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
