Carl A. Izzo

Carl A. Izzo, 90, formerly of Iron Mountain, currently living near family in Appleton, WI, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Brewster Village Rehabilitation Center in Appleton, WI. Carl was born October 4, 1925 in Iron Mountain, son of the late Tony and Filomena (Fiorucci) Izzo. After attending the Iron Mountain schools, he enlisted in the United States Army serving during WWII. After being Honorably discharged from the Army, he married the former Dorothy Brisson on September 29, 1951 in Norway, Michigan, and have spent more than 64 wonderful years together. Carl was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain. He spent his life working with his family at Tony Izzo and Sons and Grandsons, later serving as the Owner of the company, until retiring in 2001. Carl was a faithful member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Iron Mountain. He was the Iron Mountain Booster of the Year in 1988, and served on the Iron Mountain School Board. He loved following his kids and grandkids sporting events, and Michigan State University sports. In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and baseball. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy Izzo of Appleton; son, Tom (Lupe) Izzo of East Lansing, Michigan; daughters, Mary Bucklin of Marietta, Georgia and Anne (Mark) Levandoski of Appleton, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Raquel and Steven Izzo, Mike and Matt Bucklin, and Quinn and Kevin Levandoski; son-in-law David Bucklin, brother-in-law, Glenn (Bernita) Brisson; sisters in-law, June Izzo and Margaret Brisson. Carl was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph, Carmen and Andri Izzo; sister, Rose Brisson. The visitation will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Fr. Janusz Romanek will officiate. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. Pallbearers will be Mike and Matt Bucklin, Quinn and Kevin Levandoski, and Raquel and Steven Izzo. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his memory to: Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
