Beatrice L. "Boots" Mills

Beatrice L. “Boots” Mills, 95, of Aurora, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Maryhill Manor. It was a peaceful transition as she was praising the Lord and surrounded by her beloved family. Beatrice was born March 28, 1928 in Mount Pleasant, WI, daughter of the late Frank and Thelma (Broeg) Wolsker. She married George Douglas “Doug” Mills on Sept. 30, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aurora, WI. He preceded her in death in 2008 . Boots was well known in the area as she was active in the community and had an outgoing personality. She enjoyed helping others whether it was teaching her students at Hillcrest School as an aide or caring for the elderly when she worked at ManorCare. She was quite the vocalist and enjoyed singing hymns solo and with the church choir at Sacred Heart in Aurora and St. Anthony in Niagara. Boots will be greatly missed by all those whose life she touched. She is survived by four daughters, Frances (Tony) Mitchem, Kathleen (Leonard) Martin, Ann Broullire and Christine (Eric) Christesen; two sons, George (Dawn) Mills II and Joseph (Sue) Mills; two sisters, Lucille Fiegel and Frances (Larry) Brownell; a sister-in-law, Frances Wolsker; grandchildren, Chad Smeester (Lisa Kitzman), LeAna Lindquist, Brandon Smeester (Bobbie Jean Bath), Joseph (Melissa) Testolin, Krystal (Doug) DeWitt, Kurt Martin (Holly Lindstrom), Lenny (Sarah) Martin, Brooke Martin (Bob Milan), Lindsey (Adam) Valeski, Jason Mills, Joshua Mills (Cathy Dallapiazza), Nick (Ali) Jacobson, Doug Jacobson, Dina (Dennis) Aho, Emily LeQuia (Brian Moore), Ray (Dione) Mills, Jessica (Travis) Linskens, Teresa (Brent) Pataconi, Eddie (Cassie) Mills, Sarah Mills (Matt Oleksy), Jenah Mills, Michael (Katie) Christesen and Carissa Christesen; 45 great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren with three more due this year; and many nieces and nephews. Boots dearly loved each of her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and all were the joy of her life. She would light up when any of them came into the room. In addition to her parents and husband, Boots was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Mary (Goles) Wolsker; a son, Thomas D. Mills; infant twin daughters, Rose Ann & Mary Ann Mills; brothers, Frank Jr., Donald & Jim Wolsker; a sister, Patricia Michaud; a son-in-law, Todd Broullire; a granddaughter, Haley Broullire; infant great-granddaughter, Gabriella Grace Christesen; a great-grandson, Lance Martin; a great-granddaughter, Rayanne Mills; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Wolsker, Bonnie Mills Doggett and Beatrice Flesch Malmberg; and a brother-in-law, Edward Mills. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, June 26 at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 27th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aurora, WI. Fr. Quentin Mann will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. A luncheon at the C&R will follow. Burial will be in Homestead-Aurora Cemetery. The family would like to take the time to thank all of those who supported and took such good care of our mother at Maryhill Manor. You are all greatly appreciated!
