Anne Burby

KINGSFORD - Anne Marie Burby, 70, of 1600 Riverview Dr. in Kingsford, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at the home of her son. Bill, Sheila and family lovingly cared for mom the last three weeks of her life. They were with her when the Lord called her home. She was born July 10, 1938, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Forrest and Bertha (Willman) Bidwell. Anne was a lifelong resident of Kingsford and had worked for the Chippewa Club for many years. She also worked for many individuals who catered private parties and gatherings. Following her years of service at the Chippewa Club, Anne was a thoughtful and tireless caregiver for several family members as well as friends. She was an active member of AA and made many special friends over the years. Anne had many varied hobbies, which included such things as collecting Christmas artifacts and snowbabies, bird watching, especially enjoying Cardinals, watching the deer that visited the neighborhood, traveling, socializing with friends, family and her pets, gardening and planting, and was an avid bargain hunter at an occasional rummage sale. She is survived by three children, Bill (Sheila) Burby of Kingsford, Marci (Mark) Mejchar of Waukesha, Wis. and Paul (Barb) Burby of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; two sisters, Margaret "Marti" Linnert of Naperville, Ill. and Janet (Alden) Bjorklund of Minnesota; eight grandchildren, Eric (Shalon) Taylor, Nicole (Andrew) Tomacari, Troy (Vanessa) Taylor, Melissa (Corey) Sarenius, Katie Burby, Hannah Burby, Rachel Burby and Amanda Mejchar; seven great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Evan, Grace, Annabelle, Oliver, David and Eleanor; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Saturday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kingsford. A memorial service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the church. Rev. Chad Ott will officiate. Burial will be in the Felch Cemetery. The family requests plants in lieu of cut flowers. The family would like to thank all the nurses from Dickinson Home Health who helped care for Anne. They were wonderful. Also, Thank you Steph for preparing Mom for her final journey. You made our time of sadness more bearable. Thank you so much.
