Amanda Suzanne D'Amour

Amanda Suzanne D'Amour 29, of Kingsford, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017, of natural causes. She was born on March 7, 1988, daughter of Dr. Robert and Maria (Gayan) D'Amour. She attended the Kingsford schools, graduating from Kingsford High School in 2006. She went on to obtain her degree as a Dental Assistant. Amanda enjoyed traveling throughout the country with her family, and especially looked forward to the annual snowboarding and skiing trip to the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado. During the summer months, you could find Amanda soaking up the sun and boating on the Menominee River. One of her little joys in life was to get her daily coffee at the coffee shops in town. More than anything, she loved being a mother to her two sons, spending time with them was what she loved doing the most. Amanda was well known for her contagious laugh and smile, constantly having the people around her in a stitch; which will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Amanda is survived by her sons, Cayden Scott Willman and Jonah Robert D'Amour; her parents, Dr. Robert and Maria D'Amour of Kingsford; siblings, Dr. Aimee (Dr. Nathan) Connell of Indianapolis, IN, David D'Amour of Kingsford, and Ashley D'Amour of Fort Collins, CO; her very special Niece, Avery Grace Connell; Grandparents, Tom and Carol Gayan; Aunts and Uncles, Mary (Bill) Paupore, George D'Amour, John (Nancy) D'Amour, Rosemary (Lee) Manner, Todd (Pam) Gayan, Tim (Stacy) Gayan, Paul (Laura) Gayan, Nick (Angela) Gayan, Melanie (Shane) Bolan, and Geoffrey (Celine) Gayan; and numerous Cousins. She also leaves behind Gene Steidl, who she thought of as a second brother, and a very special friend, Scott Willman. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Dr. William and Priscilla D'Amour, and her Uncle Ken D'Amour. The visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at the American Martyrs Catholic Church. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in her memory. Condolences to the family of Amanda S.
