Rosemary Rondeau
November 21, 1929 - May 30, 2021
Rosemary Rondeau, 91, a lifelong resident of Kingsford passed away quietly Saturday, May 29, after a 13 month fight against cancer. A fight she met head on. Rosemary grew up in Kingsford, graduated from KHS and enjoyed piano, dance and cheerleading. But Rosemary’s interests lied in the medical field and she spent 35 years at the VA hospital after attending NMU. It was while she was at NMU she met and married Edmund “Hap” Rondeau in 1951 and went on to have 4 children while working full time at the VA and retiring in 1985. At the age of 80, Rosemary retired a 2nd time after working for various doctors in the IM/K area. Rosemary enjoyed sewing, crafting, knitting and crocheting. She made countless baby blankets and Christmas stockings that required hundreds of hand sewn beads, often taking a year to make. After giving most of her hand made items to family and friends, she donated many items to the Carmelite Sisters or to St. Mary Queen of Peace church for fundraisers. Her best times were with family and her countless fun friends. She joined Women’s Club and spent many memorable afternoons and evenings with friends while enjoying special events with them. But her greatest joy came from watching the Kingsford Flivvers and the Green Bay Packers, a lifelong fan. Rosemary leaves behind Jodi (Ivan) Malnar of Garden, MI., Mary (Mark) Pacchini of Long Grove, IL., Dohn and Nida Rondeau of Marysville, WA., and Jane (Tim) Ista of Brooklyn Park, MN, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren with an 8th due in July. A graveside service for both Rosemary and Hap Rondeau will be held in early fall of 2021. In the meantime, for all who knew her, please keep her in your prayers. Condolences may be expressed to the family of Rosemary Rondeau online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
