Mary Ann Johnson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Ann Johnson, 82, of Appleton passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2022. She was born in Iron Mountain on May 28, 1940, to the late Fritz and Alda (Spera) Guldswog. Mary Ann is a graduate of Iron Mountain High School and attended Northern Michigan University. She retired from W. B. Thompson Co., after 35 years of employment. Mary Ann had a passion for music which really blossomed in her early years with the “Candy Notes”. She also had an affinity for animals, particularly her cat, Gabby. She loved watching crime television shows, as well as reading mystery novels and doing crossword puzzles. A long-time member of St. Mary & St. Joseph Parish and proud mother and grandmother. Mary Ann always enjoyed being the ‘taxi cab’ driver to her grandchildren until they were finally old enough to drive themselves. She never missed a sporting event, birthday or special day of celebration because her grandchildren brought so much joy into her life. Her family will miss her sarcastic, sassy sense of humor, and her willingness to always be available when they needed her. Most of all, they will miss her hugs, smiles, and the way her face lit up when she laughed. Mary Ann will be deeply missed by her daughter, Lisa (Scott) Hansen, Menasha, WI, and 2 grandchildren, Bryce Hansen (fiancé, Mimi Mitrovic) and Trista Hansen. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church, 411 West B St., at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, with Fr. Janusz Romanek officiating.
