Margaret M. “Tina” Swailes, 92, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls. Tina was born December 23, 1929, in Sault Ste Marie, MI, daughter of the late Frederick and Violet (Chedester) Hodges. She married Charles Swailes on January 31, 1948, in Sault Ste Marie, and he preceded her in death in 1982. In her earlier years, Tina enjoyed watching her children’s sporting events and loved being a hockey wife and mom. She also loved the years at the cabin on Lake Superior surrounded by family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and family was her number one priority. She is survived by her son, Robert E. Swailes of Goetzville, MI; a daughter, Mary Frances Swailes of Mesa, AZ; a daughter-in-law, Arlie Swailes of Frostberg, MD; seven grandchildren, Robert Swailes, Nicole Zanoni, Timothy Swailes, Amanda Rosenburg, Katelin Kalik, Jacob Rosenburg, Joshua Rosenburg, and their families to include ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by the staff and residents at the Iron County Medical Care Facility. They were her second family, and she loved them dearly. In addition to her parents and husband, Tina was also preceded in death by a son, Tim Swailes; a daughter, Margaret Ann "Peggy" Dupra; two infant siblings; a sister, Rita "Sis" Garbrecht; and two brothers, Fred and Rod Hodges. Private family services will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of the Iron County Medical Care Facility for all your kindness and love.
