Ginger Brault

Ginger Brault, 84, of Niagara, died Tuesday morning, May 31, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 12, 1937 in Niagara, the daughter of the late John “Jack” and AnnaMae(LaPlante) Smaney. She graduated from Niagara High School in 1955. Ginger was a lifelong resident of Niagara and member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She worked for four years in New York for Northeast Airlines, returned home and helped operate the Chalet Bar in Niagara with her husband and worked at Kmart for 15 years before retiring in 1996. Ginger married Merton Brault on July 18, 1961 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in 2009. Ginger especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Green Bay Packers and was known for using the phrase, “for pity sake” while watching the games. She is survived by one son, Raymond (Kathy Walters) of Niagara, and one daughter, Julie (Ronnie) Wodenka of Niagara; five grandchildren, Kayla (Paul) Moser, Matt (Benjamin Martin) Wodenka, Brenna Wodenka, Ginette ( Jesse) Lawatsch, Jon (Amanda)Brault and honorary granddaughter Kati (Dieter) Hanamann; great-grandchildren, Devon, Garrett, Nolan, Lydia, Emersyn, Damien and Isabella; one daughter-in-law, Judy Brault; two brothers-in-law, Leroy “Jug” Brault and Marvin (Mary) Brault; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Ginger was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Brault; brother, Charlie Smaney; sister, Nancy Cowling; and great-grandson, Gabe Lawatasch. Visitation will be at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave., from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2022, with Rev. Quinn Mann officiating the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.
