Daune Peter Ozello Sr.

May 4, 1938 - March 24, 2022

Daune P. Ozzello Sr., 83, of Iron Mountain, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. Daune was born May 4, 1938, son of the late Peter and Dorothy (Cowling) Ozzello. He graduated from Iron Mountain High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He had a long and happy career with the United States Postal Service and enjoyed getting to know all those on his route to whom he faithfully delivered mail. Daune passed many hours hunting and fishing, which he loved. In his later years he found a lot of joy in conceiving of new ways to keep trespassers off of his property. He loved his family very much and will be missed by all. Daune is survived by his son, Daune Jr.; two grandchildren, Tara and Alex Ozzello; and two great grandchildren, Jayden and Jesse. Daune was preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew Ozzello; and one brother, William Ozzello. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 31st from 10:00a.m. – 12:00p.m. with a 12:00p.m. service immediately following at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
