Alice Mae Charlevoix

September 7, 1928 - January 23, 2021

Alice Mae Charlevoix, 92, of Kingsford, formerly of Hardwood, MI, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Evergreen Assisted Living in Kingsford. Alice, daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Peronto) Robinette was born September 7, 1928. She graduated from Felch High School in 1948 and married Harold Charlevoix in 1949 at St. Anthony’s Church in Milwaukee. Alice picked potatoes for the Cousineau Family Farm until she took a position at North Dickinson School’s hot lunch program where she was employed for over 25 years. Alice loved her St. Joseph Catholic Church family where she served as an active member in many capacities. Alice took pleasure in gardening, flowers, & trips to the casino with her sisters. She picked Janet Beauchamp up for their weekly coffee clutch at the Milltown Inn where everyone was “Family.” Alice always put her family first and, without fail, would lovingly tell her family members upon departure, “You be careful now.” Alice is survived by her children, Kathy (Butch) Dabb of Iron Mountain, Don (Teresa) Charlevoix of Vulcan, and Gary (Lorna) Charlevoix of Escanaba; her grandchildren, Jeff (Tina) Dabb, Jodi (Dan) Mitts, Joe (Sara) Charlevoix, Holly Charlevoix, Jill Leisner, Stacy (Dustin) Laux, and Kari Charlevoix; six great-grandchildren, Todd Edwards, MaKenna Dabb, Ava & Kent Charlevoix, and Landon & Kaylin Mitts; two brothers, Don Robinette and Harold (Carol) Robinette; one sister, Elizabeth Cary; three sisters-in-law, Arlene and Nancy Robinette and Marilyn Charlevoix; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband of 58 years, Harold, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Pearl (Ray) Davis, Leonard (Eleanor) Robinette, Melvern “Dutch” Robinette, Marshall (Ruth) Robinette, Robert Robinette, Viola (Clinton) Juneau and Shirley (Allen) Johnson; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Marie Robinette, Earl Cary, Robert (Leeann) Charlevoix, Janice (Patrick) Milligan, KayAnn Rymkos-Carl, John Rymkos, Charles Carl and Steve Charlevoix; and a granddaughter, Crystal Kay Charlevoix. Visitation will be 9:30 am - 11:00 am on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Foster City with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 am at the church. Fr. Daryl Pepin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be at the Foster City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Foster City. Alice’s family would like to thank Fr. Daryl Pepin, Rev. Michael Langlais, Dr. Donald Jacobs, Linda Opsahl, and Derek Schinderle. And a special thanks to the loving and caring staff at Evergreen Assisted Living who, for the last 9 years, treated Alice like family. Condolences may be expressed to the family of Alice Mae Charlevoix online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com. The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home with the arrangements.
