Vilanda Sparapani

Vilanda "Vi" Sparapani, 93, of Kingsford, died Sun. Nov. 6, 2011 at ManorCare West Health Services in Green Bay. She was born on Nov. 13, 1917, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Alessandro and Giovanna (Giovannotti) Pataconi. Vi worked at Hayward's House of Gifts and Cards. She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. Vi enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Great Nonna". She married Julius Sparapani on May 13, 1936 in Iron Mountain. Julius preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1985. Vi is survived by one daughter Marlene (Peter) Feira of Green Bay, one daughter-in-law Susan Sparapani of Stevens Point, two brothers Robert (Mary Ann) Pataconi-Rehner of Indiana and Joe (Dee Dee) Pataconi of Niagara, six grandchildren Matt (Alison) Sparapani of Chicago, Tim (Shawn) Sparapani of Washington, D.C., Steve Sparapani of San Francisco, Nick (Jamie) Feira of Little Suamico, WI, Becky (Scott) McClure of Green Bay, and Wendy (Kary) Kroeber of Howard, WI, five great grandchildren Mason Feira, Jessie & Alex Kroeber, and Ryan & Adam McClure, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son Henry Sparapani, and four brothers & sisters Minnie Tavonatti, Rudy Pataconi, Elda Fiorucci, and Bill Pataconi. Visitation will be Wed. from 5-7pm at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. The Daughters of Isabella will recite the Rosary at 6:50pm Wed. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be from 10-10:30 am Thurs. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Thurs. at 11am at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Father Michael Woempner will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Cemetery Park. Pallbearers will be Matt, Tim, and Steve Sparapani, Nick Feira, Ron Sparapani, and Donald Tavonatti.
