Thomas Kenny

HARDWOOD - Thomas J. Kenny, Sr. 82, of Hardwood, passed away on Tuesday, September, 29, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Florence, WI. Tom was born May 6, 1927 in Powers, MI son of the late Thomas and Esther (Charlevoix) Kenny. He graduated from Felch High School in 1945 and was a lifelong resident of the area. Tom married Alice Ottenhoff on June 14, 1947 at St. Joseph Church in Foster City. She preceded him in death on August 29, 1997. Tom was a skilled woodsman and owned/operated Tom Kenny Wood Products for many years. He was also employed at MJ Electric for 15 years as a shop foreman. Tom was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Church in Foster City. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed the outdoors, especially golfing. He loved playing cribbage with family and friends. Tom will always be remembered for his special sense of humor. He is survived by two sons, Thomas (Diane) Kenny, Jr. of Hardwood and Scott (Tina) Kenny of Aurora; a daughter, Mary Kay Kenny (Richard McInerney, deceased) of Hardwood; seven grandchildren, Amy (Dan) Steele, Rhonda (Craig) Mattson, LeeAnn (Ward) Johnson, Randy (Christi) Sanford, Mandy Sanford (Mike), Russell Kenny and Nikki Carlson; eight great grandchildren, Taylor and Lexi Steele, Alison Mattson, Nathan and Landen Kenny, Kirsten and Ashton Sanford and Lexi Klingenberg; a very special friend, Diane Mattson; and several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Bernard Kenny and three sisters, Frances Nylund, Bernice LaLonde and Gladys Kenny. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00am to 12:00 noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Foster City . Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon at the church. Fr. Paul Nomellini will offer the Mass of Christian Burial and Deacon C.W. Sanders will assist. Burial will be in Foster City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pat Milligan Jr., Steve Milligan, Sam Lucas, Bill Lucas, Steve Charlevoix Sr., Mike Mooney. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Milligan Sr. and Bob Charlevoix.
