Rose Brisson

Rose E. Brisson, 89, of Iron Mountain passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at the Lakepointe Villa Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton Twp., Michigan. She was born on June 4, 1922 in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Antonio and Filomena (Ferucci) Izzo. She attended the Iron Mountain schools, graduating from Iron Mountain High School in 1940. She married Leslie "Les" Brisson on September 7, 1946 in Iron Mountain, and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2008. Rose worked as bookkeeper at Montgomery Ward for many years. She was a member of the St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved to read, and was part of a reading group for many years. She loved spending time golfing with friends at the Pine Grove Country Club. She enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by a brother, Andri Izzo and sister in-law Trudy Izzo. Rose is survived by sons, Bill (Nancy) Brisson of Harrison Township, MI, Bob (Claire) Brisson of Casco, MI, and Dick (Sandy) Brisson of Plymouth, WI; six grandchildren, Shannon (Joe) Tocco, Rebecca Brisson, Andre and Hannah Brisson, and Elizabeth and Jonathan Brisson; five great grandchildren, Gina, Josephina, Sophia, Julia Tocco, and Riley Brisson; brothers, Carl (Dorothy) Izzo of Appleton, WI, Ralph (June) Izzo of Iron Mountain, and Carmen (Marce) Izzo of Iron Mountain; sister in-law Diane Izzo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. Pallbearers will be Tom Izzo, Joe Tocco, Rick Holland, Tony Izzo, Michael Izzo, David Brisson, Andre Brisson and honorary pallbearer, Dennis Izzo.
