Ronald "Ron" Willman

Ronald "Ron" Willman, 79, of Norway, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, WI. Ron was born October 3, 1935 in Iron Mountain, son of the late Paul and Lela (Warren) Willman. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1955 and was a lifelong resident of the area. Ron was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He married Darlene Arnoldi on February 7, 1959 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway. Ron worked for the City of Iron Mountain Street Department as a heavy equipment operator and foreman for 33 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Mary Church in Norway, Oak Crest Golf Course and volunteered for several years at St. Vincent DePaul. Ron enjoyed trips to the casino, golfing, doing puzzles, hunting and going to camp. He and his wife enjoyed playing cards weekly with their friends. Ron was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Darlene; two sons, Michael (Jeri) Willman of Linden, MI and Todd (Kathy) Willman of Iron Mountain; four grandchildren, Michael Willman of Iron Mountain, Kristin Willman of Conn., Matthew Willman of Marquette and Daniel Willman of Iron Mountain; two great grandchildren, Bianca and Athena Willman; his mother-in-law, Elsie Arnoldi of Iron Mountain; a brother-in-law, Ron (Barb) Arnoldi of Iron Mountain; a sister-in-law, Darlene Willman of Traverse City, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert and Everett Willman and his twin, Donald Willman. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway. A memorial mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Father Paul Nomellini will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Leonard and Dr. Fuchs for the care that they provided.
