Ronald Brault

Ronald "Hubba" Brault, 90, of Niagara passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Dickinson County Hospital after a short illness. Ronald was born August 24, 1931, to the late Alcide and Etsa Laura (DeRocher) Brault. Ronald entered the army in 1948 and served his country in the Korean War; he was discharged in 1952. Ronald returned to Niagara after the service and on Jan. 2, 1954, married Gloria Furno. They enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Ronald also returned to high school after the service to obtain his diploma, an accomplishment he was very proud of. Ronald worked at the Niagara Paper Mill for 40 years before retiring in 1994. He enjoyed working in his garden, going to Fritz Rouse’s camp with his brothers, hunting and fishing with his sons, and watching the Green Bay Packer games with his daughter. He also enjoyed his regular meetings for breakfast with his mill worker buddies. Most of all, he was proud of his service to his country and his family. Ronald is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughters, Diane (Robin) Rugg of Niagara, WI, Marie (Steve) Wied of Green Bay, WI, and Rhonda (Ricky) Brault of Iron Mountain, MI; sons, Daniel (Cari) Brault of Norway, MI, Randy (Marsha) Brault of Iron Mountain, MI, and Jason (Sherri) Brault of Madison, WI; brothers, LeRoy “Jug” Brault of Pembine, WI, and Marvin (Mary) Brault of Crystal Falls, MI; sister-in-law, Ginger Brault of Niagara, WI; grandchildren, Jennifer Hood, Melissa Eigner, Andrea blazer, Gina O’Connell, Brad Wied, Joey Brault, Becky Brault, Shayla Brault, Cassandra Brault and Kailey Brault; 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his in laws, Fred and Ida Furno; his brother, Merton; sisters, Beverly Richards, Mayfern Brault and Marlene Jacobson; brothers-in-law, Elroy Furno, Elmer "Lub" Furno, Ronnie Richards and Ralph “Jake” Jacobson; sisters-in-law, Jeri Brault, Carol Stuart, Lorraine Barker and Betty Furno. A special thank you to the staff at Dickinson County Hospital for their kindness and compassion. A private burial and celebration will be held in the spring due to the COVID pandemic.
