Robert Roell

Robert O. Roell CHANNING - Robert O. Roell, 86, of Channing died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. Robert was born Dec. 6, 1917, in Green Bay, Wis., son of the late Edmund and Mary (Duffena) Roell. He was a 1936 graduate of Channing High School and lived in the area his entire life. Robert married the former Imogene Pierron on May 3, 1941, at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. He worked many years as a mink rancher until retiring. Robert was a member of the Sagola Sportsman's Club, the Farm Bureau, and a life long member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Channing. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Robert was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Kay (Terry) Croci, and a brother, Clarence. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Imogene; eight children, Sharon (Joseph) Bussone of Almont, lower Michigan, Robert E. (Wanda) Roell of Breitung Township, Patricia Roell of Whitefish Bay, Wis., Nancy (Stephen) Reese of Channing, Kenneth (Catherine) Roell of Channing, David (Julie) Roell of Channing, Tom (Patti Ann) Roell of Randville and Julie Roell of Madison, Wis.; a sister, Lenore (Hub) Jauquet of Channing; a sister-in-law, Agnes Roell of Channing; 29 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain and on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Rose Church in Channing. Parish prayers will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Rose Church in Channing. Fr. George Kuppayil will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Channing Cemetery. Robert's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
