Robert D. Lindholm

Robert D. Lindholm, 79, of Iron Mountain, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at his camp in Ralph. He was born January 3, 1940 in Niagara, WI, son of the late Lenard and Helen “Ellen” Lindholm. Bob graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1958 and was a lifelong resident of this area. On July 1, 1961, he married his best friend and love of his life, Patricia Hyland at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Bob was a member of the UBCJA Local 1510 carpenter’s union and was employed as a union carpenter with Champion Inc. for 20 years. He then started his own business, R.D. Lindholm Builder with his son Bob, which they operated for several years until his retirement in 2003. Bob was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church and the Elks Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, ice-fishing and spending time at his camp and cottage. He also enjoyed spending winters in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. More than anything, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family. He truly felt blessed with his children and grandchildren and bestowed his wisdom on them. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Patricia; a son, Robert J. (Betty) Lindholm of Iron Mountain; a daughter, Ann Marie (Robert) Rahoi of Hollidaysburg, PA; four grandchildren, Thomas (Renee) Lindholm of Quinnesec, Eric Lindholm of Mendota Heights, MN, David Rahoi of Washington DC and Whitney Rahoi (fiancée, Ryan) of Pittsburgh, PA; two great grandchildren, Caterina and Elijah; three brothers, Leonard Lindholm of Kingsford, Roger (Kathy) Lindholm of Kingsford and Neil (Terry) Lindholm of Port Edwards, WI; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Snowdon and his Godson, David Linn. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2019 from 8:30 to 10:30 am at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 am at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
