Randy Stroud

Randy E. Stroud, 41, of Sagola, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011. Randy was born on April 19, 1970 in West Allis, Wisconsin. He was raised in Sagola, Michigan. He attended North Dickinson School and graduated in 1988. Upon graduation, Randy joined the United States Marine Corp, serving in Desert Storm. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1992. On August 21, 1993, Randy married Shelly Bennetts at the Grace Presbyterian Church in Sagola. He went to work for Systems Control in Iron Mountain, working in research and development. Randy belonged to the Grace Presbyterian Church in Sagola. He loved life and enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his son Derick. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and Milwaukee Brewers fan. Randy coached the girls Sagola Softball Team and he never missed attending his girls' sporting events. He was a big prankster and he loved to make people laugh. Randy also enjoyed cooking wild game. He loved animals but was especially attached to his beagle, Bailey. He was deeply in love with and committed to his wife, Shelly. He loved his children and was very dedicated to his family. He was a kind man who was loved by everyone and he will be greatly missed. Randy is survived by his mother, Sharry Stroud of Sagola; his loving wife, Shelly and his 3 children, Derick, Breanne, and Chelsey, all at home; his mother and father-in-law, Rod and Shirley Bennetts of Sagola; brother-in-law, Roddy Bennetts of Sagola; special cousins, Brandon(Carrie)Stroud and their sons, Parker and Fulton of Iron Mountain, and Jody and Jr. Beuth of Franklin, WI.; a nephew, Roddy Bennetts III and a special great-aunt, "Grandma Glenny"; he is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Randy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Helen and Alfred "Arky" Stroud and his uncles, Donald, Harold "Hud", and Wayne Stroud. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 4:00 p.m until 6:30 p.m. at the Grace Presbyterian Church in Sagola. The funeral service will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Channing Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick, Brandon, Scott, Jeff, and Nick Stroud, George Beuth Jr. and Larry, Bob and Dan Olson.
