Phyllis Parent

Phyllis M. Parent, 84, of Green Bay, formerly of Iron Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay, WI. She was born and raised in Iron Mountain, to the late David and Edwidge (Goyer) Cocking on February 18th, 1927. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1945. On October 8th, 1947, she married Aarold Parent; he preceded her in death on March 31, 1990. She worked 20 years as a bookkeeper at Red Owl. After retirement she volunteered at the St Vincent De Paul, St Mary's and Joseph Church and the Knights of Columbus of Iron Mountain. In 2007 she moved to Green Bay, WI to be closer to her family. She became a member of Annunciation Parish. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great granddaughter, her pride and joy; Olivia Mae. She was content to know that her three "dollies" were living a healthy and happy life. Survived by daughters, Mary Ellen (Gary) Allen of Manitowoc, WI; Nance Parent and partner Sabrina Jewett of Yellowsprings, OH; Patti-Trish (Steven) Schmidt of Green Bay, WI. Grandchildren Melissa Konkle, Megan Allen, Patrick and Elizabeth Schmidt and great-granddaughter, Olivia Konkle. Two brothers and her only sister; Robert Cocking of Iron Mountain; Donald (Fran) Cocking of Green Bay, WI; Myrna (John) Hassi of Mukwonago, WI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, infant son; Aarold Joseph, parents; two brothers and a niece. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:30am to 12:30pm at Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Saturday at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff at St. Mary's Hospital of Green Bay.
