Patrick Allen Thompson

Patrick Allen Thompson, born August 21, 1961, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Patrick was a man of deep faith whose love for God was reflected in the way he lived his life and cared for others. He had an incredibly generous heart and was the kind of man who would give everything he had to help someone in need. Whether it was his time, his help, or the last thing he had to give, Patrick gave freely and expected nothing in return. Above all, Patrick loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love could be seen in everything he did for the people closest to him. He was hardworking, kindhearted, and always willing to lend a hand. His generosity and compassion touched more lives than he probably ever realized. Patrick’s faith was an important part of who he was. During this incredibly difficult time, his family finds comfort in knowing that the God Patrick loved throughout his life has now welcomed him home. Patrick is survived by his beloved wife, Valerina Swisher Thompson, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage; his children, Christafer Thompson and Shana Thompson Hegy; and his cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Faith, Harley, Christafer, Grace, and Gabriel. He is also survived by his many aunts, uncles, siblings, nieces and nephews, along with many other family members and friends who loved him dearly. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Betty L. Thompson and Willis H. Thompson. There are simply not enough words to describe how deeply Patrick will be missed. His family will miss his smile, his laughter, his stories, his presence, and all of the little things that made him who he was. His unexpected passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness, but the tremendous love he gave throughout his life will remain with his family forever. Patrick leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, kindness, and generosity. Perhaps the greatest way to honor his memory is to live as he did—to love deeply, help someone who needs it, give what you can, and always remember the importance of family. Although his family would have given anything for more time with him, they find peace in knowing this is not goodbye forever. Patrick is now at home with the God he loved, and his memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know and love him.
