Patricia Kay Carlson

Patricia Kay Carlson, 69, of Kingsford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at her home. “Someone special was greeting her at the gates of heaven, telling her that he missed her.” ❤ Patti was born October 26, 1952 in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Lloyd and Ann (Zigman) Duford. She graduated from Kingsford High School in 1970 and was a lifelong resident of the area. Patti married her high school sweetheart, Thomas M. Carlson on August 21, 1971 at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Patti and Tom founded and operated CJ Graphics for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. She faithfully attended and treasured her Thursday prayer group and the beautiful friendships made with all of those ladies. Patti loved having coffee and socializing with cherished friends. She enjoyed many quality years spent with family, friends, and neighbors on the Menominee River, especially enjoying sunset cruises with Tom on their pontoon boat. Patti was very close to both of her grandchildren and shared a special bond with each of them. They are going to miss their Grammie. To know her, was to love her. Patti was a special lady with an abundance of kindness, caring and love for everyone. She will be sadly missed by anyone who knew her. She is survived by a daughter, Nicole (Mike) Lutz of Iron Mountain; a son, Brandon Carlson (partner, Eric Hammer) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two grandchildren, Finnley and Lawson Lutz; a brother, Larry Duford of Iron Mountain; two brothers-in-laws, Gary (Susan) Carlson and Dan (Jane) Carlson; a very special sister-in-law, Christine (Gene) Peterson; several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Marilyn and John Lutz. A Memorial Mass will be offered at 9:00 am on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Fr. Janusz Romanek will officiate. Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
