Patricia L. Alquist

Patricia L. Alquist, 82, a longtime resident of Quinnesec, passed away on Saturday, April 18 at Manor Care Nursing Home. Patricia was born on May 31, 1937 in Aurora, the daughter of the late Henry “Toby” and Marjorie (Marchand) Neuens. Patricia went to grade school in Aurora and Garden Village and then graduated from Kingsford High School in 1955. She worked for many years in downtown Iron Mountain as a waitress for the Melody Cafe. Patricia married John Alquist on March 27, 1979 and they have resided in John’s childhood home in Quinnesec. Patricia enjoyed traveling with her husband and has been to Arizona, Las Vegas, Colorado, the BlackHills and Ohio. She enjoyed her bingo nights which gave her a chance to get out with her friends. Pat was also an avid gardener and always looked forward to doing things with her family. She was an active volunteer and spent many hours at the Breen Senior Center giving her time. She served for many years on the Breen Senior Center Council. Pat married the love of her life, John and they had spent over 41 years together. Between them they have nine children. Pat is survived by her family, daughters, Tina Fetterly of Kingsford and Debra Seymour of Peshtigo, WI; sons, William (Wendy) Lake of Breitung Twp., Steven Lake of Kingsford, Timothy (Debra) Alquist of Iron Mountain, William (Antonella) Alquist of Lone Tree, CO, David (Carolyn) Alquist of Westminster, CO and Robert (Melody) Alquist of Fort Lupton, CO; also by a daughter, Betty Aversano of Iron Mountain; her brother, Richard (Mary Lou) Neuens of Apache Junction, AZ; sisters, Tami Kacalo of Kingsford and Mary Karas of Cleveland, OH; eighteen grandchildren and twenty five great-grandchildren. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband John in 2017; brothers, Henry Neuens Jr., Arthur Neuens and John Neuens; and a special sister-in-law, Helen Berlinski. Private family services are being held. Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
