Miles Groeneveld

Miles Joseph Groeneveld, 18, of Iron Mountain, died Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Marquette General Hospital. He was born on Aug. 9, 1991, in Iron Mountain, the son of Robert and Jean (Agnessi) Groeneveld. Miles was a very fun loving, charming, and generous young man, who touched the lives of many. He was a very talented artist, and liked skateboarding and biking. Due to his quick thinking ability, Miles was an excellent rapper. Miles was also very fond of his cat, Benny. He was a student at Iron Mountain High School. He was also a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where he served as an altar server. Miles is survived by his parents, Robert and Jean; his brother, Joel Groeneveld; his sister, Elisa Groeneveld, all of Iron Mountain; his grandparents, Marilyn and Duane Fayas, Mark Agnessi Sr., and Gus Groeneveld, all of Iron Mountain; his aunts and uncles, Margi Sanderson of Kingsford, Anne and Tony Amicangelo of Iron Mountain, Mark and Tischa Agnessi Jr. of Iron Mountain, Ron and Joann Groeneveld of White Lake, Mich., and Joan Recla of Iron Mountain and many cousins, and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bella Groeneveld. Private family services will be held at this time, with a public memorial service to be announced at a later date. Monsignor James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all he's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him only that he's gone, or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back.
