Mary Warmuth

Mary Lu Warmuth, 78, of 313 Dickinson Blvd. Kingsford, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2010, at her home. Mary Lu was born on July 20, 1932 in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Peterson) Uren. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1950 and was a lifelong resident of the area. On June 21, 1952, Mary Lu married Frank Warmuth at the Immaculate Conception Church in Iron Mountain. Mary Lu served as the secretary/treasurer of the Lake Shore Employees Credit Union for 15 years. She was an active member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Church in Kingsford, where she taught CCD classes. She was also a troop leader for the Camp Fire Girls. Mary Lu enjoyed gardening, needlework, sewing, baking and using her computer. Most of all, she enjoyed taking care of her family and time spent with them. Mary Lu is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Frank; three daughters, Cheryl Cohodes, of Kingsford, Cathy (Steve) Schoen of Kingsford, and Jill (Arthur) Alleva of Iron Mountain; a granddaughter, Sara (Tracy) Horwitz; granddaughter-in-law Heather Schoen of Kingsford, great-grandchildren, Derrick Lessor, Bryce Horwitz, and Lucus Schoen; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue (Gerald) Knutson of Kingsford, and Betty (Larry) Olson of Menasha, Wisconsin; sisters-in-law, Betty Uren of Quinnesec, June Uren of Pembine, Mary Ann Uren of Manitowoc, WI, Marie (Guido) DeMuri of Iron Mtn., Dolores Warmuth of Oakland, California, and Gertrude Koller of Iron Mountain; a brother-in-law, Carl (Charlotte)Warmuth of Kingsford; and many nieces and nephews. Mary Lu was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Barry Cohodes; grandson, Todd Schoen; brothers, Robert, Jerry and Thomas Uren; and a brother-in-law, David Warmuth. Visitation will be Friday from 4-6pm at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Fri. at 6pm at the funeral home. Fr. Michael Woempner will officiate. Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
