Marilyn F. Fayas

Marilyn F. Fayas, 79 of Iron Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Evergreen Assisted Living. She was born on October 27, 1935, in Kingsford, the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Ellison) Trumble. Marilyn received her nursing degree from South Chicago Community Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center for thirty-two years. Marilyn was loved by her colleagues and patients at the V.A. She was a member of First Covenant Church. She was an avid reader, who liked to read classic novels and good quality books. She was an excellent cook and baker. Marilyn had a great sense of humor and she enjoyed being home and taking walks. More than anything, she loved caring for people as a nurse, a mother, and a grandmother. Marilyn married Duane Fayas in 1994 at First Covenant Church. She is survived by her husband Duane, four children Margi Sanderson of Kingsford, Anne (Tony) Amicangelo of Iron Mountain, Jean (Robert) Groeneveld of Kingsford, and Mark (Tischa) Agnessi Jr., of Minneapolis, MN, one brother Randy (Jan) Trumble of Kingsford, and one sister Joyce (Joe) VanRemoortere of Kingsford, her brother Harold's wife, Wanda Trumble of Iron Mountain, 9 grandchildren Erin Sanderson, Emily (Paul) Johnson, Richard Sanderson, Anthony Amicangelo, Brooke Busha, Joel (Kari) Groeneveld, Elisa (Cullen) Testolin, Sophia Agnessi, and Anna Agnessi, and two great grandchildren Alessandra and Max Johnson. She is also survived by her step children Christine (Robert) Ragland of Dallas, Caroline Miller of Appleton, Susan (Eugene) Benivedes of Katy, TX, Don (Jill) Fayas of DePere, and Lori (Jim) West of Vulcan, her former husband Mark Agnessi Sr., and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by one daughter Mary Beth Agnessi, one brother Harold Trumble, one sister Alice Fornetti, and one grandson Miles Groeneveld. Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Dickinson County Memorial Gardens. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Evergreen Memory Care for the wonderful care given to Marilyn.
