Lorraine Gauthier

SUN CITY, Ariz. - Lorraine H. Gauthier, 83, of Sun City, formerly of this area, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City. Lorraine was born Feb. 3, 1926, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Frederick and Marie (LaVigne) Beaudry. She was a 1943 graduate of Kingsford High School. She married Arthur "Pete" Gauthier on April 24, 1948, at American Martyrs Church in Kingsford. They raised their family in Kingsford and following retirement have spent the past 20 years in Sun City. Lorraine was an avid golfer. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to many card clubs over the years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Lorraine was a member of St. Joachim and St. Ann church in Sun City. She is survived by seven children, her sons, Ronald (Sylvia) Gauthier of Kingsford, Thomas (Barb) Gauthier of Iron Mountain, John (Dianne) Gauthier of Iron Mountain and Peter Gauthier of Green Bay, Wis.; her daughters, Cynthia (Michael) Manderfield of Houghton, Patricia (Leon) Caruthers of Houston and Joan (Robert) Curran of Wausau, Wis.; grandchildren, David Gauthier, Jason and Stefanie Gauthier, Matthew and Jami Gauthier, Michael Gauthier, Nic, Markus and Malory Manderfield, Zachery Caruthers, Jessica Carlson and Kyle Curran; six great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Ervin Pichalski of Mesa, Ariz. and a sister-in-law, Carol Gauthier of Kingsford. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Pete" Gauthier on Sept. 25, 2008; a son, Earl; a brother, Frank Beaudry; and sisters, Libby Ernst, Marion Augustine and Alice Cavaiani. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Michael Woempner will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Cemetery Park. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
