Lloyd Martin

Lloyd E. Martin, 61, of Aurora, died Weds. Sept. 15, 2010 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 25, 1949 in Iron Mountain. Lloyd attended Kingsford and Florence schools. He worked for Labor Union #1329 on the pipeline and in the mines. Lloyd married Linda Lindholm on July 24, 1971 at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Lloyd was a good hearted man, who made friends easily. He was a good listener, had a remarkable memory, and had many great stories to share. Lloyd had a vast knowledge of many things and many people would turn to him for assistance and advice. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed attending his grandchildrens’ athletic activities. Lloyd was a very talented artist, painting and drawing many pictures of horses and outdoor scenery. He enjoyed fishing, coffee with friends at Country Kitchen, watching the Green Bay Packers, his garden, and recording movies and C.D.s. He was a handy man and a woodworker, and used this skill to make Christmas decorations. Lloyd was a perfectionist and took pride in working on a project until it was perfect. Lloyd is survived by his wife Linda, two children Shawn (Nicole) Martin of Beecher and Shannon Martin (Kevin Linscott) of Goodman, his mother Delores Martin of Aurora, six grandchildren Matthew, Jonathon, Codie, Devin, and Trent Martin and Ema Stepien, two brothers Robert Martin, Jr. of Aurora and Ricky Martin of Kingsford, two sisters-in-law Patricia (Dennis) Powell of Kingsford, and Sandy Hendricks of Iron Mountain, brother-in-law Arnie (Kathy) Last of Texas, several special friends including Joan Oliver, Rosie VonDale, Bob Dupuis, Ed Carlson, and John Fox, and many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his father Robert Martin, Sr., and two sisters Linda DuChaine and Lisa Martin. Visitation will be Sun. from 4-7pm at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home and Monday from 12 noon-1pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 1pm Monday at the funeral home. Father Matthew Settle will officiate. Burial will be at the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery. Condolences to the family of Lloyd E.
