Kenneth S. Osterberg

Kenneth Stanley Osterberg, 86, of Aurora, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 12, 2018. Ken was born on April 11, 1931 to Evald and Edith (Roos) Osterberg. Ken was a lifelong resident of Aurora, WI and the oldest of 13 children. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1949. He was drafted into the Army in 1952and served in Korea as a surveyor. While on leave, he married Dorothy Ringblom on May 19, 1953. Ken and Dorothy made their living on Dorothy’s family farm. They sold eggs on a local route for 25 years and were dairy farmers, selling the herd when Ken turned 80. Over the years, Ken served on many agricultural boards, including Land O’ Lakes, Inc corporate board of directors. He was the Florence County school board president for years. Ken was a member of the Aurora Free Church, where he was an Elder and a Sunday School teacher. He was a member of Gideons International. He loved to sing andsang with the church choir and barber shop quartets for many years. Ken is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his three daughters, Illene (John) Zoppetti, Linda (Warren) Vogel and Nancy (John Roberts) Osterberg; grandchildren, Daniel (Ashley) Zoppetti and Katie (Timothy) Dahlman; great-grandchildren Madelyn Zoppetti and twins Azalea and Juniper Dahlman; his siblings Lois LePine, Gary (Marie) Osterberg, William “Pete” (Helen) Osterberg, Frederick “Fritz” (Bonnie) Osterberg, JoAnn (Merlin) Zelm, Donna Dewey, Sandra (Robert) Hedmark, Randy (Karlyn) Osterberg and Debra (Milan “Mike”) Hedmark; a brother-in-law, Gordon Hicks and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce and Robert Osterberg; a sister Lindes Hicks, brothers-in-law Frank LePine and Walter Dewey, and sisters- in-law Phyllis Osterberg Smith and Helen Osterberg. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Aurora Free Church. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM. Reverend Karl Utzat will officiate. Burial will be at Homestead-Aurora Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Aurora Free Church or Gideons International.
