June K. Wallner

June K. Wallner, 95, of Kingsford, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at her home with her daughters by her side. June was born February 14, 1926 in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Jack and Mae (Chartier) Bigelow. She graduated from Kingsford High School in 1944 and was a lifelong resident of the area. June married Leslie “Butch” Wallner on June 21, 1947 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aurora, WI. Together they ran the Log Cabin Bar in Aurora for 20 years, where they met a lot of people and made many friends. June was very happy and content to be a wonderful wife and she loved and cared for Butch during his illness until his death at home in 2003. She was an adoring mother and grandmother who always put her family first. June was a ray of sunshine who always had a song in her voice and that beautiful smile for all who loved her. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a member of American Martyrs Church in Kingsford and as a devout catholic, her faith carried her through the difficult times in her life. She always had a kind word and loving heart and loved everyone who crossed her path unconditionally. June was an excellent cook and loved providing meals and baked goods to family and friends. She was known for her cinnamon rolls. June also really enjoyed having a cocktail and visiting with friends, especially during the Packer games at “Bobby’s”. She loved to dance with Butch, her beloved husband of 56 years. Our mom was an amazing beautiful woman that we were blessed to have in our lives for 95 years. She will be forever in our hearts. June is survived by three daughters, Penny Glime of Little Suamico, WI, Cindy Murray of Santa Rosa, CA, and Lee Ann Frydrych of Iron Mountain, MI; five grandchildren, Jay (Lori) Glime, Lance (Sue) Glime, Travis (Kari) Glime, Sheena Frydrych, and Brandon Murray (Heather); 13 great-grandchildren, Jule (Katie) Glime, Jordan (Cole) Dollar, Jessica Glime (Nathan Manincor), Bryan Glime, Joe Glime (Mia), Jacob (Erica) Hughes, Katie and Madalyn Glime, Damon, Skyla, Layne and Alijah Capehart and Shaunee Zellner; special friend, Bob Hodges; several nieces and nephews; and her special granddog, Charlee June. In addition to her husband and parents, June was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shyla Capehart; a brother, Eldon Bigelow; four sisters, Sis Hungate, Joan Oman, Jackie Gremore and Peggy Ziehm; and a special friend, Joe Ray. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30am on Friday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am at American Martyrs Catholic Church of Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dickinson County Cancer Unit Loan Closet. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Carrie & Andrea with OSF Hospice, Fr.
