Judy B. Barnett

Judy Beth Barnett 55, of Kingsford, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at her home. Judy was born on September 26, 1960 in Sault Ste Marie, MI. She was a 1979 graduate of West Iron County High School and has been a resident of this area for the past thirty years. Judy married Alex Barnett on December 27, 1990 in Iron Mountain. She has worked as a waitress for several local restaurants in the area, but the job she took most pride in was taking care of her family. Judy's life revolved around doing things for others. She enjoyed the years her children were active in sports and took pride in helping at their schools. Family was the most important thing in her life. She loved spending time with her siblings, having game nights, going to garage sales, shopping, going to the casino and sitting around campfires. She especially loved to cook and bake, she would spoil everyone with their favorite foods, making meals and treats nobody could turn down. Judy was well known to have a kind heart and a smile that could light up a room. She loved being silly and nothing gave her more pleasure than making others laugh. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting in the sun and reading a good book. She loved traveling to the Gulf Shores with her husband and children. Judy is survived by her husband, Alex; three children, William Barnett of Florence, Alabama, Brittany (Vincent Quadrani) Barnett of Kingsford and Alex (Brittany Johnson) Barnett of Kingsford; her parents, Gary (Kathy) McCabe of Iron Mountain and Mari (Gary) Dean of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; a brother, David (Kelly) McCabe of Manitowoc, WI; sisters, Kathy (Paul) Perry of Sault Ste. Marie, Debbie (Mark) Mileski of Norway, Bonnie (Gary) Johnston of Sault Ste. Marie, Michelle (Mike) Mariuzza of Sault Ste. Marie and Pam (Mark) Manincor of Iron Mountain, Grandmother, Dorothy Luoma, Father and Mother-in-law W.C. and Betty Looney of Lexington, AL, Sister-in-law Tonia (Benny) Eaves of Birmingham, AL, a granddaughter, Mylie Barnett and many nieces and nephews.\par Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm Friday, August 26th at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. A celebration of life service will follow at 1:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
