Joanne Brisson

Joanne M. Brisson 81, of Kingsford, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton, WI. Joanne was born May 13, 1930 in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Raymond and Mildred (Menard) Frickelton. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1948 and went on to receive her degree as a Registered Nurse from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Joanne worked at Dickinson Memorial Hospital, office of the late Dr. John Schroeder and VA Hospital in Iron Mountain until her retirement in 1977. She married Ray Brisson in September of 1976 in Iron Mountain and he preceded her in death in August of 1998. Joanne has been an active member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Church in Iron Mountain and served the church in many capacities, including Eucharistic Minister and as a volunteer at the Adoration Chapel. She was also a member of P.E.O. Chapter and Pine Grove Country Club where she served on the board of directors. Joanne enjoyed skiing and was an avid golfer. Her greatest joy was her family. Joanne is survived by her children, Suzanne (John) Traber of Powers Lake, WI, Jim (Pam) Inglese of Batavia, IL, Tom Inglese of Breitung Twp.,Tim (Becky) Inglese of Greenville, WI and Sandy (Jim) Burrows of Greenville, WI; stepchildren, Lauren (Adam) Chalekian of Racine, WI, David (Debbie) Brisson of Breitung Twp., Randy Brisson of Iron Mountain and Mary (John) Joestgen of Spring Grove, IL.; sister, Sally (Jack) Fortier of Iron Mountain; grandchildren William Traber, Tyler Traber, Jessica Traber, Tony Inglese, Robert Inglese, Josh Inglese, Sean Inglese, Trevor Inglese, Katie Inglese, Emily Inglese, David Burrows, Lindsey Burrows, Christa Chalekian, Aaron Chalekian, Andrew Brisson, Ethan Brisson, Jenna Joestgen, Kelsie Joestgen, and great grandchildren Lydia Chalekian and Dominic Inglese. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00am at St. Mary and St. Joseph Church in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am on Thursday at the church. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Norway Twp. Cemetery In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Joanne's name for the Alzheimer's Association.
