Jeannette McDonald

SAGOLA - Jeanette A. McDonald, 77, of Sagola, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. Jeanette was born on Feb. 26, 1932, in Manawa, Wis., daughter of the late Alfred and Myra (Lehman) Bozile. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1950 and has resided in Sagola since 1958. Jeanette married Donald McDonald in Channing in 1952 and he preceded her in death in 2006. She worked for the United States Postal Service as a postmaster replacement for 25 years and also wrote a column for The Daily News for many years which contained news from northern Dickinson County. Jeanette was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Channing. She enjoyed crocheting and was active in a quilting club. Jeanette was an avid bowler and participated in bowling league for many years. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, flowers, and playing cards, especially smear with her family. Jeanette is survived by three sons, Mike McDonald of Birnamwood, Wis., Larry (Cheryl) McDonald of Apopka, Fla. and Terry (Dawn) McDonald of Sagola; two daughters, Laurie (Dan) Dunbar of Flint, Mich. and Patti (Tom) Roell of Randville; a son-in-law, Patrick Corcoran of Auburn, Ind.; a brother, Tom (Sandy) Bozile of Neenah, Wis.; two sisters, Ilene (Rick) Kolbach and Joanne Dams, both of Oconto, Wis.; 17 grandchildren, Michael (Shaun) McDonald, Stephanie (Steve) O'Connell, Cory (Sarah) McDonald, Randy McDonald, Carrie (Tony) Scott, Kim (Tim) Holmes, Jamie (Jen) Corcoran, John and Jacob Corcoran, Christopher Carlson, Valerie (Nick) Runyan, Melissa (Chris) Duplanty, Nicholas Dunbar and Mark, Paul, Amy and Jacob Roell; 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Corcoran; a son, Jerry McDonald; and three brothers, Donald, Robert and Richard Bozile. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at St. Rose Catholic Church in Channing. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the church. Fr. Raymond Valerio will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Felch Cemetery.
