Jeannette Anderson Fredrickson

Jeannette G. Anderson Fredrickson, 83, of 356 Barton St., Kingsford, passed away on Sept. 30, 2011, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, Wis. Jeannette was born March 2, 1928, in Finntown, Commonwealth, Wis., the youngest daughter of seven children to the late Jack T. and Hannah (Kangas) Leppanen. Jack was an immigrant of Jalasjarvi, Finland. Her family were original settlers of Finntown. She was raised in Finntown and attended Pershing School in Finntown till 1936 and then she attended the Commonwealth School, and graduated from Florence High School in Florence, Wis. in 1945. She married Kenneth Anderson on June 28, 1947. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1983. She married Roy Fredrickson on March 28, 1984. He preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2008. Jeannette was a member of the Aurora Free Church and the Over 60 Club of Homestead, Wis. She was past secretary of Aurora Free Church and the AFC Ladies Aid. She was a VA Hospital volunteer and a representative for the state of Michigan to the VA Hospital. She was a member of the Marine Corp League Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary, past officer of PTA in Aurora, Wis., and a member of the Finnish-American Raja Ryhama Club. Jeannette was blessed with the gifts of encouragement and hospitality and was a loving caregiver for many. She loved to do Finnish and Swedish ethnic cooking and baking. Jeannette loved to dance -especially Finnish ethnic dances. She enjoyed involvement in activities and missions at her church, traveling, reading, playing card and board games, watching the Packers and just spending time with family and her many close friends. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jeannette is survived by her daughter, Siri (Bill) Henson of Aurora, Wis.; her sons, Kim (Karen) Anderson of Green Bay, Kevin (Lyn) Anderson of Aurora, Gary Fredrickson of Peavy Falls, John (Sharon) Fredrickson of Kingsford and Jim (Reen) Fredrickson of Pound, Wis.; former daughter-in-law, Jodie Anderson of Quinnesec; 17 grandchildren, Amy (Rick) Wery, Kari Anderson, Lynn (Tom) Golfis, Heather (Mark) Ziarnik, Rebecca (Brian) McBride, Janae (Adam) Haleen, Erin (Charles) Salamone, Jolynn (Billy) Jones, Jill (Brent) Johnson, Andrea Fredrickson, Shelly (Jim) Myllyla, David Fredrickson, Julie (Chris) Fezatte, Deanna (Allen) Michaud, Debra (Bill) Miller, Jodie (Clint) Peterson and Wayne (Kristina) Fredrickson; 29 great-grandchildren and two on the way. Jeannette was recently thrilled with the birth of her first great-great grandson. Jeannette is also survived by several dearly loved nieces and nephews as well as many very special friends. In addition to her husbands, Ken and Roy, Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents, Hannah and Jack Leppanen; her in-laws Agnes and Oliver Anderson; her siblings and their spouses, two brothers, Vern (Delores) Leppanen and Waino (Joyce) Leppanen and four sisters, Lila (Adrian) DeGroot, Irene (George) Fayas, Bernice (Edward) Krans and Erma (Richard) Roteman; a sister-in-law, Marion (Bud) Webb; and a grandson, Dale Fredrickson. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Aurora Free Church on County Road B in Aurora. Funeral services will be Friday at 9 a.m. at the church. Rev. Karl Utzat will officiate. Burial will be in Aurora/Homestead Cemetery. Jeannette's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
