James H. Quick

James H. Quick, 72, of Norway, died Tues. Dec. 8, 2015 at his home. He was born on March 31, 1943 in Iron Mountain, the son of the late Thomas "Tim" and Lillian "Lilly" Quick. He graduated from Kingsford High School and earned an Associate's Degree. Jim married Mary Beaver on July 21, 1962 in Iron Mountain. The couple enjoyed fifty-three years of marriage. Jim owned Le-Q Fabricators in North Chicago for twenty-five years, before relocating the business to Felch. He eventually sold the business to his son. Jim also owned the Dawg Hawg and the Kingsford Car Wash. Jim was a life member of the Longriders Motorcycle Club. He was proud of the fact that he, his son Tim, and grandson James were the only three generation members of the club. He was also a member of the Free and Accepted Order of Masons, the Moose Lodge, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. Jim was very well liked and very generous. He had a good disposition and a kind heart. Jim is survived by his wife Mary, three children Candi Quick of Iron Mountain, Tim Quick of Kingsford, and Lily (David) Anderson of Iron Mountain, one brother Glen "Bud" (Karen) Quick of Pennsylvania, six grandchildren James Quick, Casey (Ken) Sheldon, Kyle (Jennifer) Anderson, Kari Anderson, Anna Baril, and Nicholas Baril, and many nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial ride for "Big Jim" on June 18, 2016. We will leave the Longriders Club House at 10:00 AM and return around 3:00 PM for refreshments and socializing at the Club House. It could be a late one! All bikes are welcome on the ride and everyone is welcome at the Club House afterwards. Please attend for the Celebration of "Big Jim's" Life!
