Heddy Lou Pearson

Heddy Lou Pearson, 79 of Kingsford, passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Heddy was born September 16th, 1943, in Iron Mountain, daughter of Louis & Jeanette (Kassin) Goffett and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a 1961 graduate of Iron Mountain High School. Heddy was an accomplished knitter and was known to keep her loved ones well supplied with hand knit dish cloths. She also donated her handiwork to many causes over the years, knitting thousands of pairs of mittens, many quilts and sweaters. Her coffee pot was always on, and she was lucky to have a wonderful, supportive group of friends who shared many laughs together over the years and continued to support her over this last year as she battled dementia. She was happiest when her family was gathered to celebrate special occasions around her always beautifully themed dining room table. Heddy is survived by her daughter, Nanette (Jeff) Sjoquist; her son, Brian (Lisa) Pearson; her grandchildren, Father Brad Sjoquist, Dr Dan (Jordan) Sjoquist, Randi Pearson, Holly (Luke) Selden, and Dillon Uren; and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Benjamin & Abigail Sjoquist and Chloe & Tanner Selden. Heddy also leaves her companion of many years, Mark Evrard and the coffee clutch girls, Jan, Bev, Arlene, Mary, Susie & Sharon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis & Jeanette Goffett, an infant great-grandchild Adrian Selden, two very special aunts, Gertrude Miller & Hedwig Fornetti and a very dear friend Judy Khoury. The family would like to thank Dr. Funtanilla and her very supportive office staff and everyone at Evergreen Assisted Living in Kingsford, especially Tammy, Ashley, Kyle, Brittany, Paddy, Linda, Tiffany and Meagan for the phenomenal care they took of Heddy. You were a godsend, and we can never thank you enough for the truly loving care and support you provided. Heddy was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Church. Services will be held on Monday, September 11th. A visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 am at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Mary Queen of Peace Church. Her grandson, Reverend Bradley Sjoquist will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at Cemetery Park following a luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary Queen of Peace Church or the LSSU Catholic Newman Center.
