Harold R. Sexton

Harold R. Sexton, 73, of Randville., passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain Harold was born on July 1, 1943 at the McGregor Maternity Home in Sagola. He was the son of the late Cloyde and Annie (Presley) Sexton. He has been a lifelong resident of this area and was a graduate of Channing High School. Upon his graduation, Harold joined the United States Coast Guard. He was honorably discharged in 1961. Harold married Judy Ann Chaffee on September 30, 1978 at First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford. He was employed for many years with Laborers Union 1329. Harold loved God and his family. There was nothing more important to him than spending time with family and those he loved. He was a pure example of unconditional love, and always had an open armed hug waiting no matter who you were. Harold was never afraid to witness to others about Gods love. He was a walking testimony, just in the way he lived. Harold valued all life. He spent a lot of his time walking in the woods, mushroom and ginseng hunting, and loved to plant his gardens, prospect, hunt and fish. He had the gift of hospitality and opened his door to anyone. He had an appreciation for life and found goodness in everything. Harold was an excellent teacher and could encourage anyone to stand strong and persevere on their darkest day. Harold taught others the value of remembering what's important in life and never to miss an opportunity to show those you love what they mean to you. He never complained and was always ready and willing to jump in your corner in times of need. Harold is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Faith (Cory Vedin) Sexton of Iron Mountain; son, Chad Sexton of Iron Mountain; brothers, Earl (Bonnie) Sexton of Kingsford, Roy (Connie) Sexton of Chandler, AZ; sisters, Dorothy Miller of Iron Mountain and Sylvia Piche of Niagara; special brother in law, Richard (Chris) Chaffee of Iron Mountain; four grandchildren, Alexis Sexton of Little Chute, WI, Mia, Monroe and Jacob Vedin of Iron Mountain. Also by many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 10th from 10:00-12:00noon at Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Kingsford. Memorial services will follow at 12:00noon Saturday at the church. Rev.
