Fannie Vanderwarf

"Fannie Vanderwarf" NIAGARA, Wis. - Fannie L. Vanderwarf, 87, of 1664 River St., Niagara, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2005, at home with her daughter at her side. She was born on April 4, 1918, in Livingston, Ky., daughter of the late James and Mabel (Easley) Paris. She graduated from Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, Ill., class of 1936. Upon graduation, she attended the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago for one year. She worked as a personal secretary for the commissioner of the water department in Chicago Heights for many years. Fannie's biggest achievement in life was being a mother. She was an avid reader, and a spectacular letter writer. She enjoyed studying the Bible. She taught many Sunday school classes of all ages, and led many youth groups in different churches. She did some personal counseling. Fannie is survived by six children, Paul Vanderwarf of Biloxi, Miss, Ruth Joy Vanderwarf of Niagara, James Vanderwarf of Laramie, Wyo., John (Connie) Vanderwarf of Livermore, Colo., Stephen Vanderwarf of Philadelphia, and Gary (Debra) Vanderwarf of Dunbar, Wis.; two brothers, James Herbert (Doris) Paris of Loveland, Colo. and Oliver (Nola) Paris of Thorton, Ill.; a sister, Okla (Keaton) Harvey of Hazelcrest, Ill.; grandchildren, Mark, Scott, Jonathon, Aaron, Rachel, Sandra, Trudy, Andrew, Tina, Jeremy, and Jason; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death in 1977 by Harold, whom she married in 1941. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Paris; a sister, Mel Paris; a granddaughter, Sarah Lynn Vanderwarf; and a great-grandson, Austin Vanderwarf. On Thursday, there will be a Home Going Memorial from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Niagara Senior Center with coffee and desert. It will be a time of sharing, celebration, and appreciation for Fannie's life and all who knew her and cared for her through the years. The visitation will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the church. Pastor Dan Wheeler will officiate. Burial will be in the Niagara Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago. Condolences may be expressed to the family of Fannie L.
