Elisa M. Farrington

Elisa M. Farrington, 90, formerly of Iron Mountain and Sagola, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson in Iron Mountain. Lisa was born April 29, 1933, in Racine, WI, daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Miller) De Fiore. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1953, and on September 3, 1955, she married the love of her life, James “Jim” Farrington, who passed away in 2019. They raised their family of five children in Iron Mountain and loved to spend time at their cottage in Sagola, where they had countless wonderful memories with their children, grandchildren and friends. They also had many special friends at their winter home in Melbourne, FL. Lisa worked as a manager at the VA Hospital credit union for many years until her retirement. She was a faithful servant to the Lord belonging to St. Rose and St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Churches. Lisa loved playing the drums in the IMHS marching band, was a CCD educator and director, a 4-H leader, and attended every event her children were in. Somehow she still managed to find time to prepare a home cooked meal with dessert every night as she loved sitting down at the dinner table listening to her family discuss the events of the day. Lisa was an inspiration to everyone who met her. Lisa is survived by her two sons, Michael (Linda) Farrington of Daytona Beach, FL, and Jim Farrington of Kingsford; three daughters, Denise Christensen of Kingsford, Becky (Bill) Goodman of Daytona Beach, FL, and Mary (Chris) Ninomiya of Iron Mountain; seven grandchildren, Brandon (Mikki) Hall, Lia Hall, Jessica Goodman, Katherine Goodman, Sara (Zach) Harrison, Colleen (Patrick) Rodenbeck and Thad (Connie) Christensen; two great-grandsons, Jimmy and Conor; a brother-in-law, Dale (Linda) McNamee; a lifelong special friend, Mary Jane Nelson; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Along with her husband, Jim, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael DeFiore; two sisters, Jackie McNamee and Delores Pietrantonio; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jo (Gerald) Brackett; a brother-in-law, Tony Pietrantonio; a nephew, Larry Pietrantonio and a son-in-law, Greg Christensen. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 13th at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Msgr. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Assisted Living for their kind and compassionate care of Lisa.
