Elaine M. Divine

Elaine M. Divine, 87, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford. She was born December 15, 1928 in Kingsford, MI, daughter of the late William and Emma (Neils) Dykstra. Elaine graduated from Kingsford High School in 1947 and was a lifelong resident of the area. She married Clyde Divine on August 9, 1947 at the Church of Christ in Kingsford. Clyde preceded her in death in 2012. Elaine worked for the Melody Cafe and Khoury Manufacturing for several years. She also was employed by Hancock Wood Products for many years, retiring in 1987. Elaine was a member of Redemption Hill Church where she was involved in the Christian Fellowship. She was also active in the Christian Women’s Club and frequently could be found reading God’s word in her Bible. She enjoyed listening to music, playing Bingo, and watching game shows, her favorites being Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Elaine was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren & great grandchildren. Elaine is survived by her children, Robert Divine of Austin, MN, Rev. Michael (Deborah) Divine of Lake Butler, FL, Beth (Kenn) Wittock of Gilbert, AZ, Edwin (Loretta) Divine of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Patty (Steven) Smith of Iron Mountain and Roxanne (Sam) Aten of Lumberton, New Jersey; a sister, Johanna (Steve) Cuggino of Norway; a sister-in-law, Nancy Martner of Tulsa, OK; 20 grandchildren, soon to be 42 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Divine; three brothers, Harold, Robert and Edwin Dykstra; and six sisters, Margaret LaLonde, Wilma Rogers, Dolores Quick, Faye Dykstra, Darlene Clash & Betty Van Ness. Visitation will be on Friday, September 30 from 3:00 to 6:00pm and on Saturday, October 1 from 10:00 to 11:00am at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am on Saturday at the funeral home. Rev. Michael Divine will officiate. Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Smith, Phillip Aten, Gary Smith, Edwin Divine, Lorin Divine, Tristan Divine, Lance Marcell and Morgan Marcell. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
