Edward L. Bossom

Edward L. Bossom, 65, of Iron Mountain passed away on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette. He was born on March 14, 1945, in Munising, son of the late Raymond Bossom and Gladys (Tubbs) Bossom. He attended school in the Ishpeming area graduating from Negaunee High School. He worked at and retired from the Northlake Foundry in Ishpeming. Ed married Ruth (Fornetti) French on June 27, 1998, at the First Methodist Church on Iron Mountain's Northside. He loved spending his time growing tomatoes in the summer and volunteering at the Oscar G. Johnson V.A. Hospital, the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, and the Salvation Army. Ed is survived by his loving wife of nearly 13 years, Ruth Bossom of Iron Mountain; children, Charles Bossom of Gwinn, Christine (Jason) Hill of Eau Claire, Wis., Curtis Bossom of Negaunee, Robert French of Iron Mountain, John (Jen) Fornetti of Las Vegas and Staria French of Las Vegas; brothers and sisters, Wilda (Arthur) Parkkila of Eben, Robert (Marie) Bossom of Albion, Mich., Ronald Bossom of Parma, Mich., Willard (Gen) Bossom of Limestone, Mich. Caren West of Sundell, Mich., Jesse (Ward) Miller of Creal Springs, Ill., Linda (Les) Takkinen of West Allis, Wis., Allen (Rhonda) Bossom of Eben and Goldie Roy of Roodhouse, Ill.; grandchildren, Ariel French, Mikalya Hill, Joshua Hill, Meghan Hill, Abigail Hill, Sarah Hill, Joel Hill, Kaziah Hill, DJ Riechel, and Jake Bossom. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Gladys Bossom; his siblings, a brother, Ernest Bossom, and a sister, Ada Takkinen; and his mother-in-law, Alice Fornetti. Visitation will be Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Limestone Cemetery in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory. Condolences to the family of Edward L.
