Earl Deiter

"Earl Deiter" HARDWOOD - Earl J. Deiter, 53, of W 555 E. Fordville Road Hardwood, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Aurora Baycare Medical Center in Green Bay, Wis. Earl was born Jan. 11, 1952, in Escanaba, son of the late Albert and Martha (Burnham) Deiter and has been a life long resident of this area. Earl was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the United States Army. On April 30, 1977, he married the former Cynthia Daigneault in Delta County. Earl received his bachelor's degree in nursing and had worked as a nurse at the Iron Mountain VA Medical Center. He was member of the Vietnam Veterans Association, the National Rifle Association, and U.P. Whitetails. Earl was an avid outdoor enthusiast and sports fan. He enjoyed hunting and watching his children participate in sports. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; four children, Brian (Heidi) Deiter of Bark River, Nicole (Patrick) Gillis of Gladstone, Shawn (Katie) Deiter of Bolingbrook, Ill., and Jessica (Nick Webster) Deiter of Green Bay; six grandchildren, Brandon Deiter, Justin Deiter, Brian Deiter Jr., Christin Deiter, Aaron Armatti Jr. and Alyssa Gillis; six brothers, Albert "Sonny" (Mildred) Deiter of Milwaukee, LeRoy (Rita) Johnson of Escanaba, George Johnson of Sagola, Roy (Jeanette) Johnson of Escanaba, Patrick (Carol) Deiter of Marinette, Wis., and Robert Deiter of England; two sisters, Ann (Daniel) Haniel of Arizona and Loretta (Norbert) Beauchamp of Escanaba; His mother and father-in-law, James and Eileen Daigneault of Bark River, and many nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs, Bingo and Jake. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clark and Jerome Johnson, and a sister, Muriel Deiter. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Rev. Michael March will officiate.
